Safe Outdoor Spaces Guaranteed

Our perimeter tick and mosquito treatments protect your family from dangerous pests all season long. Applied where ticks and mosquitoes live and breed, our program keeps Maine yards safe for kids, pets, and outdoor living.

Professional Protection Against Maine's Pests

For over 70 years of combined experience, Wicked Green has helped Maine families reclaim their outdoor spaces from ticks and mosquitoes. Our targeted treatments create protective barriers where these pests live, feed, and breed — stopping them before they reach your family.

Ticks are one of the biggest disease vectors for New England residents. From late winter through December, these pests create serious health concerns. Lyme disease, carried by the black-legged tick (deer tick), causes symptoms from fever and fatigue to debilitating joint, heart, and nervous system issues.

Mosquitoes ruin backyard barbecues and make evening outdoor time impossible. Beyond being a nuisance, they're vectors of diseases like EEE and West Nile Virus. Our treatments target the areas where mosquitoes rest and breed, dramatically reducing populations throughout the season.

Customer Testimonials

They did a great job. I had a particular request for "No Weed Control" because I wanted to introduce clover to a problem area. Before the season began I made my request to management and Josh, the field serviceman delivered as requested including some other minor details. A great job at a reasonable cost. Thanks Wicked, hope to see you soon !
David Gittins
"Our first year with Wicked Green has been very favorable. We've never hired a lawn service at our previous properties so we weren't sure what to expect. Our new lawn was installed in April, and we began our service with WG starting in May. In mid-August I did my own aeration & overseeding."
J Donnelly
"Wicked Green has been outstanding from day one. The communication is clear, the crew is reliable, and the quality of their lawn care is consistently top‑tier. My yard has never looked better. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a company that actually shows up, cares, and delivers."
Ryan Forsythe
"We have had a very positive experience with Wicked Green. They took the time to educate us on our lawn and proper care plan, even popped by for a visit during the drought to check on things. We have been happy with the service, from the technicians, to the team behind the scenes in accounting!"
Lana Packard
"We have had Wicked Green for 2 years now and we couldn't be more pleased with the service. Our lawn has gone for being pretty much dead and filled with crabgrass to looking so much more healthy. Would highly recommend this company."

FAQs

Have questions?

How often will you visit my property?

Our comprehensive lawn care program includes regular visits throughout the growing season, typically every 4-6 weeks. Each visit includes fertilization, weed control, and a thorough inspection of your lawn. We customize the schedule based on your lawn's specific needs and Maine's seasonal conditions. You'll always receive advance notice before each visit.

What makes your grub preventative different from other treatments?

Our grub preventative is applied in early through mid-summer and is absorbed by the grass plant itself. When grubs hatch and start feeding, they die off before causing damage. We guarantee you won't have damaging levels of grub activity—if you do, we'll stop the existing grubs and repair any damage completely free of charge.

When is the best time to aerate and overseed in Maine?

Fall is the ideal time for aeration and overseeding in Maine, typically September through early November. Cooler temperatures, warm soil, and natural rainfall create perfect conditions for seed germination. Aeration relieves soil compaction while creating thousands of seed pockets, and overseeding at this time gives new grass the best chance to establish strong roots before winter.

How do tick and mosquito treatments work?

We apply treatments to your property perimeter, lawn, landscape beds, under decks, and anywhere ticks and mosquitoes are found. For ticks, we treat 3 feet high and focus on brush piles, rock walls, and plantings where they live. For mosquitoes, we treat several feet high and identify potential breeding areas. Treatments create a protective barrier that keeps your outdoor spaces safe and enjoyable.

Can you remove invasive plants like poison ivy and Japanese knotweed?

Yes! Our vegetation control service targets invasive species like Japanese knotweed, poison ivy, and bittersweet that can take over your property. We also address unwanted vegetation in crushed stone driveways, paver walkways, mulch beds, and patios. Each treatment is customized to eliminate the specific invasive plants affecting your property.
